Once again on the roman military equipment in Barbaricum near the Roman Dacia

This paper is an up-to-date research on the Roman military equipment found in Barbaricum beyond Dacian limes previously dealt with a lecture published 1999 Proceedings of 17th Congress Frontier Studies. The discussion other 10 items gave opportunity to draw additional conclusions and find more evidence for already made statements. So, nine pieces (nos. 1-9) were discovered autochthonous settlements concentrated central part historical region Wallachia (Fig. 1). Among them there are only two weapon accessories 4 8) rest 1-3, 5-7, 9) belt baldric fittings. All date from end 2nd century AD until c. 260. origin at Mătăsaru 7-9) almost certain Dacia. others 1-6) along roads linking southern Danubian bank main Dacia placed inside Carpathian Mountains probably originate Moesia Inferior. earlier piece (no. 10) unearthed Vandal settlement Medieșu Aurit was obviously imported Porolissensis. Both belong types distributed throughout Empire. No. 6 representative eastern variant ring-buckles met Syria, fittings variants diffused provinces.
